Community Superblock: 14688...

It’s time to vote for the latest proposals! Please note: Voting has changed with the release of Blocknet Comet. Please view the updated requirements regarding voting here. There is a great responsibility for the community to vote either “yes,” or “no,” on the proposals. It cannot be emphasised enough how much the proposal authors and the Blocknet team relies on the community to vote on project proposals to ensure continued funding for development of the Blocknet. The proposals for superblock 1468800 can be viewed below or on the forum here . Please note, proposals are being submitted individually so please make sure you scroll down and take your time to look over each proposal. For any late proposals please check the forum above. In the latest wallet voting is now much easier. Navigate to the proposal area:Open the wallet and in the side menu, go to Proposals. The wallet needs to be unlocked to cast votes. The Proposals screen shows all the proposals submitted to the network. Above the list of proposals there is an option to filter by Upcoming, which displays the proposals that can currently be voted on. Select this filter to view all proposals currently open for voting.Review the proposals and the amount requested. It’s a good idea to consider the total Superblock budget, the other proposals amounts requested, the priorities of the project, and if the proposal aligns with those priorities and greater vision of the project. The link for each proposal should lead to a description of what the proposal is for with some background information and objectives. The voting system will automatically calculate how many votes you have available according to your balance (1 vote per 5000 BLOCK) and cast your full vote weight when voting (5562 BLOCK balance = 1 vote, 49635 BLOCK balance = 9 votes.When ready to vote on a proposal, select the Vote button. A popup will appear that will be used to vote from. Select whether you’d like to approve the proposal (Yes) or vote against the proposal (No). After you have selected how you wish to vote, select the Vote button. This registers your vote to the network after the vote transaction has 1 confirmation (about 1 minute). Once you have voted you can change your vote by selecting the Change Vote button and selecting you new vote.Voting Complete!Repeat this process for every proposal you are voting for.Your vote is not counted until the voting transaction fee has 1 confirmation (typically 1 minute), after which your votes will be accounted for.If you spend any of your 5000 BLOCK inputs after you vote, the vote is marked invalid and you will need to cast your vote(s) again. If you are staking, your vote will automatically re-cast.The latest Superblock details are below in alphabetical order:Superblock 1468800Proposal Name: ARBIT-Market-Making-1468800 Owner: ArbitCost: 3450 BLOCKProposal: ARBIT Market MakingPrevious Work:ARBIT Corporation is a Canadian market maker in business since 2015 that has provided $220 Million of trading volume across 9 ALTCOINS to date. For this case also new XBridge API call is needed to get ‘listunspent’ from specified coin. This call can be added for example as dxGetTokenBalancesUnspentList(maker, makeraddress) or only maker parameter. Because if dxmakerbot wanna use specific UTXO from XXX-COIN wallet to create order it needs to know UTXOs first. By this API can dxmakerbot be updated to be more specific and also effective by using always whole UTXO values. Also there are more reasons, that you can read in draft of planned proposal below. As long as you want to run multiple makerbots with same maker and you wanna save hardware resource by running only one full-wallet from pair, coin addresses needs to be specified separated by makerbot-instance.add configuration argument — strategy {{},{}} — dxmakerbot argument “–strategy” is json-style formated argument specifying sequence of orders. — This configuration way strategy can be specified like this:–strategy {{pump and dump orders place first}, { than push some normal orders}, {at the end strategy with some small orders}}“name”: “sellstart”: “sellend”: “selltype”: <float number between -1 and 1. -1 means maximum exponential to 0 means normal to 1 means maxium logarithmic> “slidestart”: “slideend”: “slidetype”: <float number between -1 and 1. -1 means maximum exponential to 0 means normal to 1 means maxium logarithmic> “maxopen”: “reopenfinished”: <True/False, reopen finished orders or must wait for any reset event> “slide_dyn_enable”: <True/False, include dynamic slide or not, very useful when not applied on pump orders> example of config arg — strategy{{“name”:‘normal’, “sellstart”:3, “sellend”:5, “selltype”:-0.5, “slidestart”:1.02, “slideend”:1.25, “slidetype”:0.6, “maxopen”:10, “reopenfinished”:True, “slide_dyn_enable”:True}, {“name”:‘pump’, “sellstart”:20, “sellend”:50, “selltype”:-0.2, “slidestart”:1.3, “slideend”:10, “slidetype”:0, “maxopen”:10, “reopenfinished”:False, “slide_dyn_enable”:False}}add configuration file per dxmakerbot instance by — cfg argument — Configuration file per bot is more useful — configuration files can have private permissions vs. running process arguments are by OS public — example of config file representing strategy argument[strategy] [[push some normal orders]] sellstart = 10 # first order in sequence with amount sellend = 1 # last order in sequence with amount sellstartlimit = 10 # first made order in sequence can accept this amount sellendlimit = 1 # last made order in sequence can accept this amount selltype = 0 # orders amounts are evenly risingslidestart = 1.10 # first order placed at 1.1 times more than actual price means +10% slideend”: 1.03 # last order placed at 1.03 times more than actual price means +3% slidetype”: 0 # orders prices are evenly risingmaxopen = 10 # including borders and range there will be placed this number of orders. <sell-start, sell-end> <slide-start, slide-end>reopenfinished = false # <True/False, reopen finished orders or must wait for any reset event> slide_dyn_enable= false # <True/False, include dynamic slide or not, very useful when not applied on pump orders> [[push some big orders]] … [[push some pump orders]] …by having parallel staggered orders sequences, it will fix discord discussed “PROBLEM (2)” and also increases parallel market liquidityPROBLEM (2) Problem related to partial order filing. For example someone have 100 BLOCK for sale, and he creates orders at 33+33+33 or 25 25 50 or he do not think about and creates one order at 100. Problem is that most of time here are thousands of people who are interested in to take that order but are not able to accept it because individuals have funds to buy only 10 10 10 20 20 20 and nobody of them can accept one whole ordersave and restore orders from file — In case of bot quit/crash to be able to restorePUMP/DUMP auto managementautodetect and precompute possible next pumpdxtakerbot/dxmakerbot automatically selling all coins of wallet which is detected as going to dump…feature is to automatically compute top price of next pump and cover it.feature to opposite dxbot side to detect pump/dump to disable dxbot to not make a loss.add log exp normal staggered mods — add logarithmic/exponential/normal staggered size of orders — add logarithmic/exponential/normal staggered price of orderseducational examples & info-graphics & video tutorials how to use dxmakerbotPossible Next Work Expectations: — Purpose of this proposal is to continue with dxmakerbot research, development, testing, bugfixing, support, code refactoring to finish all above featuresI believe that i gives you many reasons to vote up this proposal to continue dxmakerbot development and all stuff around. Thanks for your time & MTFBWYHopefully see you later on upcoming dxmakerbot development.— — — —Proposal Name: infinity7592_1468800 Owner: Infinity7592Cost: 385 BLOCKProposal: LedgerCan now communicate normally with the ledger with WebHID.Currently adding code so that the website detects the platform and use the appropriate protocol.(continued)Useful reminders:This new communication protocol is still experimental. Comet 4.2 and Block DX 1.7 were released on May 8th and the EXR Proxy was released to the public on May 13th. I worked on XBridge order improvements, including adding more taker verification checks to XBridge. These checks include verifying that the taker is on a valid fork prior to committing to the trade. I also added the ShowAllOrders XBridge capability allowing Block DX users to see orders across the entire network without any wallets installed locally. Review May work here: https://github.com/blocknetdx/blocknet/commits/master 1. I also improved XRouter by adding improved support for the new EXR node type (Enterprise XRouter service node). EXR snodes are significantly faster at handling XRouter requests and we advise all service node operators to adopt this technology. Please see the EXR snode setup documentation here: https://github.com/blocknetdx/exrproxyThe C++ XRouter library is now part of the main blocknet repository:https://github.com/blocknetdx/blocknetReview the sample project here: https://github.com/blocknetdx/libxrouter-sampleproj-cppMay/June Development OverviewI have joined the XBridge partial orders development effort. This will allow users to make or take partial amounts in posted orders. I am also continuing development on the GoLang XRouter library. Comet 4.2 and Block DX 1.7....

Blocknet Comet 4.2 and Block DX version 1.7.0 have been released with improvements and new features. Full details on these updates can be seen below.Note: This wallet release contains the staking protocol upgrade and will result in a hard fork on June 8th at 6pm UTC +0. Updating prior to this date is required to stay on the correct chain.Download Blocknet Comet 4.2Download Block DX 1.7.0Blocknet Comet 4.2Staking ProtocolThis update includes a v7 staking protocol upgrade, which is the final upgrade to the new staking system. The purpose of the v7 upgrade is to promote block time consistency by using a quadratic staking weight multiplier on the staking UTXO. This multiplier will benefit stakers who mine blocks at times closest to the target block time of 60 seconds. This upgrade will result in a hard fork on June 8th at 6pm UTC +0. Updating prior to this date is required to stay on the correct chain.WalletThere are two new features in this wallet. The first is the ability to stake to a specific address with the staketoaddress=[address] option in your blocknet.conf file. This allows you to send your staking awards to a completely different address than the address that staked as long as the address is in your wallet. The second new feature is the splitbalance command which allows easy splitting and combining of inputs (UTXOs). This comes in handy if you have many staking inputs you’d like to combine or if you want to split up your inputs to optimize for staking. For usage instructions see the help splitbalance command output. There are also quite a few bug fixes including crashing on macOS due to transaction processing, partial filtering on the Service Node screen, and crashes caused by the getblockstats command.XRouterAs we work towards XRouter 1.0 there are a lot of enhancements being made. For starters, XRouter now supports TLS p2p connections so all data is encrypted. This feature is only available for Enterprise XRouter (EXR) Service Nodes and can be enabled with tls=1 in xrouter.conf. Furthermore, due to the higher quality of service and the ability to handle millions of requests per second, EXR Service Nodes will be prioritized for XRouter calls and sorted by their score from there. If you’re a Service Node owner, guides on setting up an EXR Service Node are in progress, but feel free to ask for help in Discord in the meantime (ping @86b or @aderks). Blocknet is building an Enterprise XRouter reverse proxy that will be compatible with EXR calls. If you would like to pilot this please reach out in Discord. The XRouter C++ library has been completed too. This library will allow developers to interact with XRouter without any blockchains installed. If you would like to get started with this library, see the sample project guide. If you have any questions please join our Discord and ask.A bug with XRouter DNS resolution where a lockup would occur on non-IPs every so often has also been resolved.XBridgeThis release includes an XBridge protocol upgrade with improved validation checks on the taker that incorporates block height. This resolves an issue with failing trades resulting from the maker or taker being on forked chains or not in agreement on the current block height. In order to more easily debug and continue enhancing the protocol, we have also improved the logging by incorporating json format on xbridge logging.Lastly, a new feature has been added that allows you to view all orders on the network without having connected wallets for those markets. You can enable this feature in the xbridge.conf file with ShowAllOrders=true. Alternatively you can also control this option in the blocknet.conf file with the dxnowallets=1 setting. The dxnowallets setting will override the ShowAllOrders xbridge setting, therefore it is recommended to use the ShowAllOrders xbridge option because it doesn’t require a wallet restart (this is also configurable from Block DX). It should also be noted that enabling this feature will be more resource intensive.Block DX 1.7.0This Block DX release includes various user experience improvements and bug fixes, which can be viewed below.Note: Block DX 1.7.0 requires Blocknet Comet 4.2Full App ZoomTo accommodate a variety of screen sizes and resolutions, Block DX now supports full app zoom between -60% to +150%. The zoom level will persist across sessions and can be controlled with the typical hotkeys or from the program menu (View > Zoom In/Out).ShowAllOrders SupportThis Block DX release supports the XBridge ShowAllOrders setting. This feature allows you to view all orders on the network without having those local wallets running (Blocknet wallet still required). This setting may consume more of your computer’s resources and is disabled by default. To enable this feature go to Menu > General Settings > Order Book.Unverified Asset WarningSince Block DX is fully decentralized, Service Nodes have the ability to add support for assets. However, issues can occur if support for these assets are not properly and thoroughly tested. To accommodate for this we added a warning that is shown when selecting a market pair that contains an asset that hasn’t been verified by the Blocknet core team (all verified assets can be found in the blockchain-configuration-files repo).Electron/Dependency UpgradesWe’ve upgraded Electron to v8 as well as over 50 dependencies for improved security and efficiencies.Bug FixesGenerate Address — When generating a new address only the input you are generating an address for will be cleared instead of clearing the entire order form.Retain Price On Order Submit — The order form will now retain the price values after submitting an order instead of clearing the entire form.BTC Pricing — If the BTC price is available and present in the order book, the order panel will no longer show the price as “N/A”.Looking ForwardThere are many exciting milestones still ahead including XRouter 1.0, the lite XRouter Go library, market and limit order functionality on Block DX, various other Block DX improvements on UX, and integration of a lite multiwallet being developed by CloudChains Inc, which is powered by the Blocknet Protocol. View the roadmap.Blocknet will continue breaking new ground as we move through 2020. Be sure to keep up with the latest developments by joining the Blocknet community on Discord and subscribing to the biweekly newsletter.Note: This wallet release contains the staking protocol upgrade and will result in a hard fork on June 8th at 6pm UTC +0. Word on the BLOCK: 30th Apr...

Hello everybody and welcome to the latest Blocknet newsletter! This newsletter is released twice per month to keep the community up-to-date on what is happening with Blocknet. You can view all previous newsletters here.XRouter development continues as we head toward the XRouter 1.0 release: The XRouter “Enterprise Service” is progressing. This service will support the 3rd party developer libraries and is a scalable way to handle the XRouter ecosystem because it moves the work of supporting XRouter requests away from the Blocknet wallet towards a service oriented architecture environment. This will help Service Node operators easily integrate into the EXR (Enterprise XRouter) system. This is a public system that doesn’t require developers to understand anything about blockchain protocols, as can be seen in this example: https://api.oracleminer.com/xr/BLOCK/xrGetBlockCount. As demonstrated here, a browser doesn’t know anything about blockchains, yet it was able to pull this data. Developers will be able to integrate with XRouter as easily as your browser simply by consuming the data from URLs. These URLs are broadcasted via the Service Node network, so that users can verify they are working with trusted Service Nodes.Comet 4.2 is expected to be released next week with a number of important upgrades including C++ XRouter library support, the ability to view all XBridge orders even for wallets not connected, improved XBridge logging, a fix for crashing on macOS, additional XBridge taker validation improvements, and a v7 staking protocol upgrade, which is expected to be the final upgrade to the new staking system (improves block consistency).Block DX 1.7.0 is also expected to be released next week alongside the new wallet. This release will include new full app zoom functionality, an unverified asset warning, upgraded Electron version, and fixes for various bugs such as the order form getting cleared when creating a new address and not always displaying the BTC price in the orders panel when it’s available. All testing items have been aggregated. To make things more concise, easier to follow, and viewable to those not on Discord, all testing items for Block DX, CloudChain Inc’s lite wallet, dxmakerbot, and the XRouter Service Explorer have been aggregated in the gist below and will be constantly updated. Check it out here. Currently there are new CloudChains Inc lite wallet builds available for a critical bug fix and new Block DX builds ready for updated Electron/dependencies as well as a data dir selection bug. We encourage our more experienced members to take part in this open testing.NEO is now live on XRouter and XCloud! Plugins are being created and tested.Marketing options for the release of XRouter 1.0 are being considered and articles are being prepared as the release draws closer. If you would like to help out with this or have any articles, images or ideas to contribute please DM @Philip Marshall on DiscordThe documentation portal and blockdx.com have both been updated to reflect the latest compatible assets and wallets. These pages will now load the latest list after an issue preventing hotloading has been resolved.Next week work will begin on adding an open orders page to blockdx.com to easily view current orders from the web.Website / Block DX Website / Documentation Portal / API Docs / Discord / Twitter / Medium / Telegram / Reddit / Newsletter / Blocknet Facebook / Block DX Facebook / YouTube / DTube / Instagram / Minds / BitcoinTalk / Proposal Forum / Blockdx.coA reminder that @Lucien has created a Twitter bot that posts the trade statistics for Block DX every 24 hours (volume in BTC/BLOCK/USD & total number of trades). Community Superblock: 14256...

The proposals for superblock 1425600 can be viewed below or on the forum here . If you are staking, your vote will automatically re-cast.The latest Superblock details are below in alphabetical order:Superblock 1425600Proposal Name: ARBIT-Market-Making-1425600 Owner: ArbitCost: 6200 BLOCKProposal: ARBIT-Market-Making-1425600Previous Work :ARBIT Corporation is a Canadian market maker in business since 2015 that has provided $220 Million of trading volume across 9 ALTCOINS to date. Hello everybody and welcome to the latest Blocknet newsletter! This newsletter is released twice per month to keep the community up-to-date on what is happening with Blocknet. You can view all previous newsletters here.XRouter development continues as we head toward the XRouter 1.0 release:The XRouter lite libraries are continuing to be built out. We’re working to complete the beta version of the C++ library and the alpha version of the GoLang library. The GoLang XRouter library will allow ETH developers to more easily integrate XRouter into their applications as there’ll no longer be the need to have the Blocknet wallet running in order to interact with the network. The Enterprise XRouter Proxy is also undergoing continuous improvement as we work towards getting it ready for open beta where the community can run and install proxy servers to support high Service Node throughput.Development on Block DX 1.7.0 continues with fixes and improvements to the new full app zoom functionality. Other changes that will be included in this release are an unverified asset warning and fixes for various bugs such as the order form getting cleared when creating a new address and not always displaying the BTC price in the orders panel when it’s available. If you would like to help with testing these features along with other updates, visit the #community-testing channel in Discord and check out the pinned messages.Blocknet’s v6 staking protocol upgrade officially went into effect at 6pm UTC +0 and the chain should adjust over the next few days. This protocol enforces a the following new requirements:Staking nonce must be shared in block header nonce field.Staking nonce must be set to the time at which the stake was found.Staked blocks can’t be submitted for times prior to the previous block time.Staked blocks can’t be more than 3 minutes into the future. As a reminder for why we needed a new v6 protocol update, it prevents blocks showing up in the past after previous blocks, fixes the difficulty (the difficulty broke when blocks were staked in the past causing the chain to move too quickly), and fixes the block times. Moving the stake time into the nonce field allows us to put the accurate block time in the block time field.Heidi from Crypto Tips covered Block DX in a new video. Hello everybody and welcome to the latest Blocknet newsletter! This newsletter is released twice per month to keep the community up-to-date on what is happening with Blocknet. You can view all previous newsletters here.Blocknet Comet 4.1 was released. Comet 4.1 contains many upgrades and bug fixes of the previous Comet release. This was a MANDATORY update for everyone, regardless if you’re a holder, staker, service provider, or Service Node operator. The full details can be viewed here.Development has been completed for new wallet features including the ability to specify a staking reward payout address and a new command to combine all the inputs in an address and then split them into defined input sizes. A bug fix has also been made for mismatched item details on the Service Node tab after filtering.XRouter development continues apace as we head toward the XRouter 1.0 release:The service node list protocol upgrade has been added that will allow XRouter libraries to pull the services list on demand. The C++ and GoLang libraries are continuing to be built out.Development on the Enterprise XRouter Proxy (v0.6.2) is also continuing. The Blocknet Protocol : Thi...

The Blocknet Protocol : This Is What A Decentralized Infura Looks LikeWith XRouter and the Blocknet Protocol, Blocknet has laid the foundation for a “decentralized Infura”. But why does this matter and why is it so important? Over the last few years Infura has played a pivotal role providing the majority of the Ethereum DApp community a centralized service to connect to the Ethereum blockchain without the need to run a full node locally. This has allowed developers to quickly and easily interface with the Ethereum network, usually via Metamask, to ensure their dApps have minimal down time and are reliable. However, although the Ethereum network is decentralized, an ever growing part of it is reliant on Infura to keep things running smoothly. In a decentralized network, this is far from ideal. So how did this situation come about and what is the solution? The Importance Of Remaining DecentralizedInfura quickly became an integral part of the Ethereum ecosystem due to the fact that previous to its existence, a great deal of time, money and resources were required to download and operate a full Ethereum node via a client such as Parity. A full Ethereum archive node in 2019 required well over 2.5 TB of space (over 3TB at present) and as a result, operating an Ethereum node became prohibitive on a number of fronts. Infura was the remedy to these issues. Run by Consensys, Infura allowed developers the freedom to run a node without needing to worry about its maintenance and upkeep. Infura proved to be very reliable and its popularity soared. Because of this reliability, a large amount of traffic was filtered through its nodes, re-centralizing a large part of the Ethereum network which was not ideal. During the height of the CryptoKitties craze in 2017 this problem was compounded further when the majority of traffic was funneled to Infura via Metamask causing more problems and clogging up the network. More recently the amount of nodes mantained by individuals has fallen by 25% in the last 9 months as an increasing number of node operators gave up maintaining their own nodes and instead began relying on Infura. If this trend continues then Infura will go from operating a small percentage of Ethereum nodes to a much greater percentage, creating an ever more centralized system in the process which in turn increases the potential for collusion. What was supposed to be a decentralized system could then be in danger of becoming the very thing it set out to avoid as the network influence will eventually become unbalanced. Another danger for the Ethereum ecosystem is that Infura relies on Amazon Cloud Servers. This represents a potential central point of failure. Should something happen to those servers or Amazon decide they no longer want to deal with Infura, the whole Ethereum ecosystem could fall apart as others have observed with Ethereum dApps being rendered useless. These problems could be mitigated if something like a decentralized Infura existed. The good news is that such a system does indeed already exist in the form of the Blocknet Protocol. The Blocknet Protocol: A Decentralized InfuraDecentralized applications should be censorship resistant, trustless and without a central point of failure — all principles that the Blocknet Protocol was founded on. The Blocknet Protocol consists of 2 components:XRouter is an inter-blockchain SPV client backend, enabling the verification of blockchain records without requiring users to download the full blockchain. This empowers development of lightweight microservice architectures that harness contracts, protocols, and services from other blockchains, laying a foundation for a decentralized API ecosystem. Because XRouter functions on the TCP/IP level, it is compatible with any and all blockchains and networks. This includes public and private DLT’s from Bitcoin, to IOTA, to Hyperledger.XBridge provides the ability to perform true trustless and decentralized exchanges between any digital asset that is supported by the Blocknet Protocol via APIs (view list). When paired with XRouter, any application can perform exchanges between any compatible blockchains using a decentralized SPV implementation. Unlike every other “decentralized” exchange protocol, XBridge doesn’t use derivatives (proxy tokens or colored coins). The entire process is done in a trustless manner decentralizing the four components of an exchange.Together XBridge and XRouter provide decentralized, total blockchain interoperability across ALL blockchains, creating an Infura-like, but completely decentralized API ecosystem for hundreds of blockchains. The Incentives Of Running A Blocknet Service NodeThe Blocknet Protocol allows for the monetisation of inter-chain and multi-chain services and for interactions between any smart contract platform and any other blockchain, even those that do not have smart contract capabilities. (e.g non Ethereum chains.) XRouter was designed from the ground up to provide interoperability with ANY and ALL blockchains, including all DTL’s (such as IOTA and Hashgraph.) and private chains (such as Hyperledger or R3.) There is no limit on the data XRouter can consume and verify. It is not limited to blockchain data only. XRouter can also verify external data sources such as those used in Oraclize. (In this example, a non-blockchain weather data call can be utilized.) The Blocknet Protocol is supported by a network of Service Nodes, which are similar to Masternodes but with an increased level of participation. Service Nodes host full nodes of the supported blockchains, host microservices, verify UTXOs, route communication between blockchains, and perform anti-spam and anti-DOS measures for the network. BLOCK is the utility token of the Blocknet blockchain and is used to pay fees for the network’s services, such as those provided by XBridge and XRouter. Through these fees, BLOCK is used as compensation to participating Service Nodes to incentivize support. In addition to receiving fees for supporting the network, operators of Services Nodes also receive 100% of fees generated from use of the network’s services (XBridge, XRouter, XCloud). Blocknet Service Node owners therefore have a great incentive to maintain their nodes. This is a marked difference to operating a normal Ethereum node where there is a lack of an economic model to encourage operators to continue to run Ethereum nodes. (Rewarding full Ethereum nodes isn’t part of the base layer). This may be a contributing factor to the decline in the number of Ethereum nodes. There are currently approximately 450 Blocknet Service Nodes spread across the planet providing a stable decentralized network with access to over 100 blockchains. Because of this, the network is not susceptible to centralized failure or censorship and the potential for node collusion is very small when compared with a centralized collection of servers where it would be easier to game the system. Moreover, running a Blocknet node means that node operators will be providing the framework for a brand new API ecosystem where 100% of provider fees go to Service Nodes.Developers, DeFi, DApps And Use CasesThe Blocknet Protocol enables the separation of the underlying framework of the services the protocol provides from that of the development layer, freeing up developers to focus on what they are good at without the need to worry about laborious maintenance of the infrastructure they are building on. This separation of dApp development from infrastructure is essential to the growth of a decentralized ecosystem. The Blocknet Protocol makes development blockchain-agnostic. This means development can occur on any chain and the features needed can be pulled in from other blockchains. The protocol enables the use of services from other chains similar to the way libraries are used in traditional software development, allowing developers to focus on the business logic of the application. What this means is that if developers want to utilize smart contracts from different chains, they can now do so, mixing and matching any blockchain they choose, to build whatever they want. There is no need to rewrite contracts from scratch. Because Blocknet uses the Bitcoin codebase, this benefits XRouter, XCloud and XBridge improving network security and scalability. DNS support has also been integrated which will support the forthcoming XRouter proxy (currently in closed beta) allowing Service Nodes to give enterprise clients and developers direct access to RPC frameworks across any blockchain, Ethereum included. The proxy will also enable support for millions of requests per second and all without requiring the Blocknet wallet to be installed. The Blocknet XRouter network is designed with consensus in mind, meaning that developers can access a variety of Service Nodes that are running the same jobs, picking and choosing which nodes they would like to use to achieve network consensus. There is also the capability to create custom microservices in Docker containers that act as plugins for XRouter. This is the foundation for Blocknet’s XCloud platform. XCloud can be used to monetize any service with crypto payments without having to re-code or change anything about those existing applications. Existing containers on Docker Hub, including Enterprise applications, can also be monetized and served through Blocknet’s XRouter making XCloud yet another incentive to run a Blocknet Service Node. A good way to think of XCloud is like a decentralized AWS. Therefore, Ethereum could be hosted on a Blocknet Service node which could be accessed via XRouter / XCloud plugins, giving access to Ethereum API’s, just like Infura offers. The difference being that with Blocknet, it is all completely decentralized! The beauty of the protocol is that is does not depend on unnecessary complications such wrapped Bictoin, pegged derivatives and so on. Because the routing of XRouter packets occurs on the TCP/IP level, it is compatible with any network and is simplicity itself providing an elegant solution for blockchain interoperability:You can read more about XRouter here and checkout the API documents for XCloud, XRouter and XBridge here. The Blocknet Protocol also allows for individual libraries via XRouter and XBridge which enables dApps to be compiled outside of the main wallet. These dApps could then be utilized via Metamask which will result in true decentralised finance (DeFi). This is important because the growth of the DeFi ecosystem could stall and end up fighting with itself if developers have to continue to rely on large companies running collections of centralized servers. This is why the Blocknet Protocol and Service Nodes are so crucial. A Blocknet Service Node hosting ETH or EOS for example can offer services via XCloud plugins, allowing developers to build a true DeFi ecosystem where the ETH or EOS node operators would receive fees from developers and businesses utilizing their Service Node. You can read the EOS node set up guide here and the ETH set up guide here. Already, CloudChains Inc., a Blocknet partner, is about to launch a development environment based off Kubernetes that will allow developers backend access to full-nodes for XBridge, XRouter, and XCloud.Currently there is a constant back and forth battle with regards to keeping things decentralized as illustrated above and the DeFi space is but a single manifestation of this. The challenges presented by blockchain decentralization are many but Blocknet is making strides to ensure that it stays true to the original vision of decentralization. At present there is already a long list of XRouter calls for off-chain oracle data services, games, messaging apps and more including over 32 live Ethereum calls (as listed under “ETHEREUM JSON-RP” on the Infura website) that developers can begin to utilize with the knowledge that the infrastructure they will be using is truly decentralized. Blocknet nodes currently support over 100 Blockchains including BTC, LTC, ETH, EOS, DGB, DASH, DOGE, SIA, SYS and many more. Many detailed use cases can be viewed in the Blocknet whitepaper.Developers Wanted For The Beginning Of A New EcosystemBlocknet enables the creation of a multitude of cross-chain dApps and multichain architectures only limited by developers imaginations. If you want to build for XRouter, set up a Service Node or have any questions, please join our Discord or Telegram. You can download the latest Blocknet wallet, Blocknet Comet with XRouter here. (The forthcoming XRouter proxy — currently in closed beta — will allow developers access to the XRouter network without requiring the Blocknet wallet to be installed). By building on the Blocknet Protocol and joining the “Internet of Blockchains,” developers will help to evolve a decentralized crypto-ecosystem. In addition, the Blocknet Protocol allows over 100 digital assets to be traded on Block DX, a 100% trustless and decentralized exchange dApp built on the protocol where native assets are traded, funds are in your control throughout the entire trade process, the ability to list an asset is open and free, there are no accounts, and no KYC is required. CloudChains Inc. is currently implementing a fully decentralized lite (thin) multi-wallet utilizing Blocknet’s XRouter protocol. <sell-start, sell-end> <slide-start, slide-end>reopenfinished = false # <True/False, reopen finished orders or must wait for any reset event> slide_dyn_enable= false # <True/False, include dynamic slide or not, very useful when not applied on pump orders> [[push some big orders]] … [[push some pump orders]] …by having parallel staggered orders sequences, it will fix discord discussed “PROBLEM (2)” and also increases parallel market liquidity PROBLEM (2) Problem related to partial order filing. Thanks for your time & MTFBWYHopefully see you later on upcoming dxmakerbot development.— — — —Proposal Name: infinity7592_1382400 Owner: Infinity7592Cost: 385 BLOCKProposal: LedgerCan now communicate normally with the ledger with WebHID.Added Xrouter support (thanks to adersk)Currently adding code so that the website detects the platform and use the appropriate protocol.Useful reminders:This new communication protocol is still experimental. First, I have added the service node list protocol upgrade that will allow XRouter libraries to pull the services list on demand. I’m continuing to build out the C++ and GoLang libraries. I have been continuing development on the Enterprise XRouter Proxy (v0.6.2). This will support high traffic service node operators. Second, I will be improving XBridge and Block DX trading. There’s currently some important features that are needed, e.g. supporting persistent storage of orders. This will allow clients to better recover orders after crashes or inadvertently shutdowns. Regarding task priorities, the core team will be providing insight on priorities, especially XBridge and Block DX related. As a result some of my listed tasks may change accordingly.Current tasksXRouter C++/GoLang librariesXBridge persistent storageEnterprise XRouter ProxyBug fixes and optimizationsOther tasksMaintenance and bug fixes on Blocknet products (XBridge, XRouter, XCloud, Block DX)Upcoming XRouter tasks:Blocknet Name Service (XRouter DNS)— — — —Proposal Name: Operations-team-1382400 Owners: hanniabu, 86b, aderks, fattoxCost: 11510 BLOCKProposal: OperationsWe (hanniabu, 86b, aderks, fattox) have decided to submit our proposals as a single group considering how much we rely on each other due to how closely we work together.Previous Work :We began contributing to Blocknet in 2017 and are the silent contributors that keep the project running smoothly by working on a range of items from administrative tasks, to documentation, to support and QA. Blocknet Comet 4.1.0 has be...

Blocknet Comet 4.1 has been releasedThis is a MANDATORY update for everyone, regardless if you’re a holder, staker, service provider, or Service Node operator. You must update before block 1382400 (estimated March 20th 5am UTC +0).Download Blocknet Comet v4.1Blocknet Comet is the largest release to date and is a direct fork of Bitcoin Core v0.18 with integrated Blocknet Proof-of-Stake (PoS), on-chain governance, and Blocknet Service Nodes (masternodes). Blocknet has adopted all of the latest security updates and protocol enhancements in the bitcoin core codebase providing Service Node operators and enterprises with the latest security enhancements adopted by bitcoin core.Comet 4.1 contains many upgrades and bug fixes of the previous Comet release. The fulls details are as follows:Staking ProtocolThis release includes a staking protocol upgrade that consists of improved handling of staking orphans, improved block spacing via a difficulty adjustment which will bring us back to our target block time, and a fix for a bug where inputs would stop staking.BIP9 SporksAlso as a reminder that after March 15th, once 95% of stakers signal support for a BIP9 spork, the Blocknet network will activate network fees paid to stakers instead of being burned, SegWit support, and staking to p2pkh instead of p2pk.WalletThe wallet now includes the lock/unlock menu options (re-added), the ability to maximize the startup syncing screen by clicking the syncing bar, a fix for MacOS staking crashes, and a new -lowmemoryload=1 parameter for use with low-memory clients like the Raspberry Pi.Service NodesA new Service Nodes tab has been added to monitor your own Service Node as well as others — you don’t need a Service Node to view this page. You can also view your Service Node’s status with the servicenodestatus call from the collateral wallet. For Service Node setup, the servicenodecreateinputs call has been updated to also create voting inputs and return change to the specified Service Node address. There’s also a fix for a bug that wouldn’t allow you to specify the port= and host= setting at the same time.GovernanceThis release includes improved vote tallying to ensure accurate totals of the on-chain votes, displaying vote count totals in the Proposals screen, a listproposals rpc update to include the status of each proposal (passing, failing, etc), and a bug fix where voting only pulls vote inputs from addresses with at least 5k BLOCK. In addition, there’s an upgrade to the voting call for the ability to vote only from a specific address (only via CLI). When you do this the maximum amount of votes for that address will be cast as opposed to previously where you cast the maximum amount of votes for that wallet.A new voting screen has been created that allows voting across multiple proposals simultaneously, which reduces voting fees and the number of required voting transactions. Previously one voting transaction was submitted to the network per proposal when voting, now one transaction is submitted for multiple proposals.XRouterFor XRouter, there is a new xrUpdateNetworkServices call that queries random service nodes for the latest Service Node list. This allows on-demand access to the snode list without having to wait for online Service Nodes to send out their service pings. The Service Node being queried must be in the getpeerinfo list and will provide its known Service Node list. xrGetBlock and xrGetBlocks have also been improved for ETH calls. Transaction output is no longer included in the json response for these calls. You can also specify either the hex or block number to obtain the details for that block. Instead, xrGetTransaction and xrGetTransactions can be used to obtain transaction information.XBridgeThis release contains an XBridge protocol upgrade required for the various changes. Most importantly is an improved locktime drift. This pertains to many reports about failed trades due to a difference in each party’s block height, specifically BTC. With this change, for chains with block times less than 10 minutes the locktime drift is increased to 15 minutes (from 10min) and for chains with block times of 10 minutes or more (BTC) the locktime drift is set to a 4 block maximum (previously 2). For chains with block times of 10 minutes or more the taker’s lock time has also been increased to 1 hour to accommodate these changes (previously 30 minutes). All other chains will remain at 30 minute taker lock times. Aside from that, there were bug fixes to prevent charging a trade fee if you take an order with insufficient funds and to relist orders that are cancelled at accepting (status 1/5).This is a MANDATORY update for everyone, regardless if you’re a holder, staker, service provider, or Service Node operator. You must update before block 1382400 (estimated March 20th 5am UTC +0).Download Blocknet Comet v4.1Looking ForwardBlocknet has many exciting milestones approaching as we move through the year including XRouter C++ and Golang lite libraries to interact with XRouter without requiring the installation of the Blocknet wallet, the Enterprise XRouter Proxy which will allow Service Nodes to handle millions of requests per second, XBridge Segwit address and staking input compatibility, partial orders for Block DX, an XRouter-powered lite multiwallet developed by CloudChains Inc that’s compatible with Block DX, and much much more. To learn more about Blocknet, check out our website, API, documentation, Discord, and whitepaper.
