New primary storage for Ignite
Prometeus Labs is proud to announce that Arweave will be used as primary decentralized storage for Ignite. We will be closely cooperating with the Arweave team in order to ensure the maximum level of decentralization, user experience, and comfort. What is Ignite?Ignite is a nonprofit decentralized microblogging service built on Prometeus protocol. It allows everyone to share their mind freely via texts and media files. Technically, Ignite represents a set of independent and equitable nodes.Ignite’s mission is to fight censorship and stand for freedom of speech. Due to its architecture, Ignite won’t be governed by anyone and could not be blocked by any form of barrier or firewall.More about Ignite. Why did we choose Arweave?Arweave team follows the same ideas of decentralization and censorship-free world as we do. Generally, we have a lot of things in common, which make our cooperation particularly pleasant. From the technical standpoint, arweave provides us a possibility to store Ignite data forever, without any additional expenses. Basically, we have to only pay once for data storage, which solves a scalability issue of Ignite.Another thing is that arweave is not limiting the data unit size, unlike other decentralized storages. Which allows us to optimize storage expanses. For example, in other storages, we have to pay for the full data unit, no matter how much data Ignite users generated for the last 5 minutes.According to our initial calculations, Ignite will be generating over 100 000 monthly transactions on the Arweave network. Of Course, this number can change, depending on the network status. The First Ignite node has been already deployed on Arweave and can be found here. Additional nodes will be deployed and announced on the 8th of July together with our public beta launch.About ArweaveArweave is a new type of storage that backs data with sustainable and perpetual endowments, allowing users and developers to truly store data forever — for the very first time.As a collectively owned hard drive that never forgets, Arweave allows us to remember and preserve valuable information, apps, and history indefinitely. By preserving history, it prevents others from rewriting it.About Prometeus ProtocolPrometeus is a secure and decentralized protocol that allows fully trustless and anonymous data exchange and storage. Prometeus is layer two, so it can be implemented by the majority of existing blockchains. Our primary goal is to utilize the public blockchain to achieve a decentralized, trustless, and censorship-resistant framework for exchange/share data across various fields and implementations. Ignite is migrating to Bina...
Ignite will enter the public beta stage already tomorrow, on the 8th of July! Right from the start, it will be working on a Binance Smart Chain (BSC) storing all data on Arweave decentralized storage and utilizing Sia Skynet as a primary CDN.Despite that Ignite will be fully operated on Binance smart chain already next day, we still will be duplicating everything to Ethereum plasma in case of emergency, until BSC main net release. What is Ignite?Ignite is a nonprofit decentralized microblogging service built on Prometeus protocol. It allows everyone to share their mind freely via texts and media files. Technically, Ignite represents a set of independent and equitable nodes.Ignite mission is to fight censorship and stand for freedom of speech. Due to its architecture, Ignite won’t be governed by anyone and could not be blocked by any form of barrier or firewall.More about Ignite.Explore Ignite. Why did we decide to migrate? Each blockchain has its own advantages and disadvantages and it is important to make sure, that they won’t become a bottleneck for future project development and growth. Ethereum network has several issues that are critical for Ignite architecture:situations when the price of one transaction exceed from 1$ limit, which is totally unacceptable for us;Ethereum network is slow. Sometimes it takes a significant amount of time to make a transaction, which may cause Ignite loading delays; To be used for Ignite purposes, Ethereum requires additional technical solutions (such as plasma fo e.x.) which leads to the reduction of decentralization level.Due to the reasons mentioned above, we had to migrate to another blockchain, which is BSC.How does it work?Let’s imagine that you decided to post your favorite picture on your Ignite account:After you’ve made a post with your favorite picture, it is being downloaded on the node that you are connected to;Every 2 minutes all new data (pics, comments, likes, and other user actions) on your node is collected to a “data chunk” and uploaded to Arweave storage, which generates a unique data hash;Ignite node writes that hash to the Binance Smart Chain (Ignite activity contract), which ensures global data integrity; Now let’s take a look from the user authentication perspective:Once you registered on Ignite, the node generates a unique hash, which will be recorded to BSC on behalf of the user’s wallet (Ignite user contract); That is the user actual password’s hash, which is used in auth procedure in order to provide more security and prevent identity theft; If the user would like to change his password or forgot it, he can use his ERC/BEP wallet associated with the account in order to create a new hash record on BSC;NOTE! if you don’t trust ignite node, you can generate account hash yourself, instructions for that are located in Sign-up sectionWhy Binance Smart Chain?First of all, BSC provides way better performance than the Ethereum network, which is too busy with their migration on the PoS algorithm. Secondly, the BSC is more affordable. We are also interested in the combined Deputy Proof of Stake (DPoS) and Proof-of-Authority (PoA) consensus. As with Ignite user base growth, we will be facing extreme network overloads, which can be solved by the Binance chain consensus algorithm.Every activity of each user within our System must be signed by a unique hash associated with that activity in order to prevent any possible impersonations or any kind of stealing user’s identity. That’s why the fastest consensus is required. Ignite has been able to manage that issue so far, but later it will be an absolute bottleneck, which we will meet at 1M users.BSC also provides the Token Binding mechanism, which will allow Ignite nodes to pay PROM tokens for data stored in Arweave. Those tokens will be seamlessly converted to AR and used as an immediate payment to Arweave nodes.Ignite nodes are already deployed to BSC and you can find our aggregated smart contract here. Additional nodes will be deployed and announced on the 8th of July together with our public beta launch. We will also support authentication via BEP wallets shortly after public beta release.According to our calculations, Ignite will generate over 100 000 transactions on BSC already for the first month. This number will grow together with new nodes deployment. That will allow Ignite to become and secure “the most active BSC Dapp” status right after public beta release.About Prometeus ProtocolPrometeus is a secure and decentralized protocol that allows fully trustless and anonymous data exchange and storage. Skynet and Ignite from a te...
Recently we announced that Prometeus and Nebulous Labs will cooperate on the creation of the first decentralized social network — Ignite, which will be integrated with Skynet. In this article, we will provide detailed information from a technical standpoint.OverviewBeing a decentralized social network, Ignite consists of multiple independent and equitable nodes. Communication between the nodes and user authentications is based on Ethereum blockchain. We also use Ethereum plasma to make the processes faster and cheaper. All the posts and media attached to them are stored in the Distributed Data Storage (DDS) based on BitTorrent File System (BTFS). To store files in BTFS we use charging service gateway and BTFS cluster called Soter. DDS is secure file storage, which is able to store necessary data and media for a period of 10–100 years. This ensures information immutability.Bittorrent is a communication protocol for peer-to-peer file sharing, with its own advantages and disadvantages. At the current stage, it can’t provide appropriate download speed for every type of media file. More particularly, BTFS can satisfy our needs in terms of speed for big files, but due to our tasks, we need to provide our users a bunch of relatively small files. That’s because for each file you need to identify the exact ‘swarm’ (connected nodes, that have all portions of required file), perform the negotiations, create connections, and only after this you can start the downloading process. The actual overhead for even 1Mb file will be less than a few percent of total access time, but when you have to deliver a hundred tiny 10Kb user pics it will cause unacceptable delays. Total page loading time, in this case, can increase from 200–1, 200 ms up to 20s, or even a minute.SolutionCaching all the media files locally on each node is just a temporary solution because we cannot store copies of all our media files on every Ignite node for a lifetime. It would be preferable to use the Content Delivery Network (CDN) to address these issues. CDN is a geographically distributed network of the servers and their data centers. The goal is to provide high availability and performance by distributing the service spatially relative to end-users.Requests for content usually are algorithmically directed to nodes that are optimal in some way. For performance optimization, we need to follow the “location” rule. This may be measured by choosing locations that are the fewest hops, the lowest number of network seconds away from the requesting client, or the highest availability in terms of server performance (both current and historical), so as to optimize delivery across local networks. In an optimal scenario, these two goals tend to align, as edge servers that are close to the end-user at the edge of the network may have an advantage in performance and access speed. As for Ignite — CDN basically serves as a huge cache that is synched with DDS (which can be considered as an immutable backup in this scheme). But the problem is that traditional CDN services are not decentralized and censorship-resistant. Using such a service therefore may jeopardize both the principles and sustainability of the Ignite ecosystem. Here comes SkynetDue to the reasons mentioned above, we concluded that there was a need to implement a decentralized and independent Content Delivery Network. Skynet CDN by Sia meets these requirements and helps us to fulfill our mission,. Additionally, Skynet is not just a reliable content delivery system, but a storage foundation for a Free Internet.Technically, for each media file that our user uploads to Ignite, we create both unique internal hashcode that helps us to identify it in DDS and Skylink to retrieve it in Skynet. Ignite nodes upload locally stored media files to Skynet and it makes them ready to be retrieved worldwide. As well as BTT Soter storage, Skynet costs 10x lower than centralized providers, and bandwidth costs are 100x lower (without losing the performance or sustainability). Here are some examples of Ignite files stored on Skynet:sia://ZADymoAAT3-eI78Gnq92xbvLFEuh6ndyQ0MUjJ4rqQxgPwsia://ZADxCiClSZ-1am4J5Ol1pJPC3I9O7MWOLgHTebR_P5V9Lwsia://zADwyDUjMzMB8xviknx8eii3FarT15H223CuQtc-tpud6Asia://zADWCX2Kr6MjuNn6IjUwU4ZZte_hLvLdqVUNrroYCT6HCAsia://zADw7IIVFK_hI7i4151W0edR_3Y0I417EiPBMI_Mop6hmwsia://zADv-UpcSoTrbkY6PYetvFhMq3Y14-hRxkOSlSgpbePhggsia://ZADV7OtVZGX40LLoPbe5pMdzfQKtBkqXfTlQsfiYyZqXywsia://ZADUBn9zDQb1hBC1uSygqUQ0i8nbU939B9CUmPhQcuBLDgsia://zADSIxjhWfjeazwAeKpHUqQoD__djD-dxpOGaZNKnOM9HQsia://zADsiLO3r-UZzsHN9yCxW7YSLo3Rz1f6LXwFLy9aj3iDZwsia://ZADs6VwgQCQN6eFjIC51DFy8pnS0mBqqvQrqlt1WK_F9pQSkynet helps us to minimize caching media files on the nodes, by avoiding the full duplication of those files, which could be a serious issue for further development of the Ignite ecosystem. Actually, it’s a silver bullet that allows us to avoid the creation of Ignite nodes clusters, without any losses in terms of decentralization.Skynet solution not just fixes all our problems with content distribution and delivery but also helps us to make a difference. To know more about Prometeus protocol and Sia, please follow links below, subscribe to our social media and stay up to date:Prometeus Telegram ChatPrometeus Telegram Announcement ChannelPrometeus TwitterSia TwitterSia DiscordSkynet and Ignite from a technical standpoint was originally published in Prometeus Network on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

Prometeus May Digest
Welcome to our May Digest! Last month was very special for the Prometeus Labs team and our community: we announced two new products, did a rebranding, and significantly improved our core technology.News recapMeet IgniteIgnite private beta launchTheir job is to ban our voices. The most fearsome censors of the world and how we will fight themWhy Did Social Networks Ban Inhalation therapy, Brazilian UFO & Creators of Colour? Only Ignite could safeguard our online freedomIgniteTo be honest, we did not expect, to see such results in the first month of the private beta stage. Let’s start with Ignite in numbers (From 2nd of May to 31st of May):Private beta applications: 3 398Total users: 750Daily active users (average): 276Posts: 23 424Comments: 6 034Likes: 174 231BTFS data chunks: 2 511Blockchain transactions: 2 511First of all, let us clarify, why the number of blockchain transactions equals BTFS data chunks: initially we launched Ignite on ethereum mainnet, but due to unexpected demand from your side we faced the problem of high gas fees. That is why we were forced to lower the frequency of synchronizations from 5 minutes to 1 hour for BTFS (and 1 day for Ethereum mainnet) and to created ethereum plasma solution as soon as possible.In-house, plasma solution has already been finished and will start to work already from Monday, which will allow us to get back from 1-hour syncs to 5-minute ones. We are also considering migration to other blockchains, but it is more important for us to finish Ignite core features development as soon as possible.Technical update:Private API now available upon request;In-house built Ethereum plasma solution;Database replication for each node;Skynet dCDN integration.Features update:Topic following — follow treads same as you follow people and explore the hottest topics around the globe;“Who to follow” — explore and follow people based on your interest;Notifications;Mobile Android App;Prom wallet integration to the mobile app.And many other things. Breaking the Chinese Firewa...
Meet the “Ignite” by Prometeus Labs team. It is a nonprofit decentralized microblogging service resistant to any kind of moderations, bans or block. With Ignite, users can easily bypass the Great Firewall of ChinaWhat Firewall can do?Image © Pixabay18 years have passed since the birth of filtering content on the Internet in China. Now, this technology is known around the world under the name “Great Chinese firewall.” The basis of the Firewall is a combination of several content filtering systems that have been implemented in stages. At the first stage (the 2000s), the filter was able only to block domain names and IP addresses. This was enough to block access to any site and redirect traffic to the so-called “blackhole route”.At the second stage of development (turn of decade), the firewall was taught to filter content by keywords. The system analyzes the content of sites for compliance with the “national blacklist” of keywords. If prohibited information is found, the connection will be reset.Soon, of course, users learned to access forbidden resources bypassing the filtering system with the help of VPN and Shadowsocks. Therefore, at the third stage of the firewall development (in 2011–2012), its programmers were mobilized to research the features of the VPN protocols used, such as IPSec, L2TP / TPSec and PPTP. Since then, the firewall has been able to reset VPN connections. At the fourth stage (the 2010s), the filtration system continued to develop with the support of the legislation. VPN services began to disappear from the App Store. China Sinnet Technology, the company managing the Amazon cloud business in China, demanded that its customers stop using VPNs. On March 31, 2018, a complete ban on VPN came into force in the country. If you, for example, type the word “counter-revolutionary” in a Chinese search engine, the following phrase will appear: “Unfortunately, you visited or requested information that contains keywords that are prohibited by the censorship department of the country.”In addition to the features described above, the Great Firewall is capable of:To intercept DNS. This method is often used in conjunction with IP blocking. The result is one — it will not be possible to switch to a prohibited resource. To filter content on the client-side. For example, the Chinese special version of Skype collected and analyzed all messages comparing them with the “blacklist” of keywords. To filter content selectively. For this, the regulator has hundreds of thousands of employees. Using the search by keywords, they read messages on popular social platforms and form a report for decision-makers.Blocked in ChinaSocial networks: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Vimeo, Google Hangouts, WordPress, TalkBox, SoundСloud Messengers: Whatsapp, Telegram, Viber, Line, KakaoTalk Media: New York Times, Bloomberg, BBC, WSJ, Flipboard, Google News, Vimeo, Wikipedia, Wikileaks articles Search engines: Google, DuckDuckGo, Baidu Japan, Yahoo Hong Kong, Yahoo Taiwan Cloud services: Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, Slideshare, iStockPhoto, Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail, Google Translate, Google Calendar, Google Groups, Google Keep Other online services: Flickr, Google Play, Google Picasa, Bit.ly, Archive.org, Change.org, 4Shared, OpenVPNWhen Wang Jiang Feng joked about calling China’s president “Xi the Bun”, he was sentenced to 22 months in jail. But even non-prohibited Internet-services are subject to strict censorship in China. For example, Chinese laws forbade the registration of new accounts without identification. Thus, it is impossible to create an anonymous or fictitious account in social networks & forums or to open an anonymous channel in messengers. And this leads to the arrest of users. For example, blogger Wang Jiang Feng was arrested simply because he joked about President Xi Jinping in the WeChat group. Why is Firewall powerless against Ignite? As we have already said, Ignite is a nonprofit decentralized microblogging service. It is built on Prometeus Network and powered by Bittorrent. Technically, Ignite represents a set of independent and equitable nodes. Its mission is to fight with censorship and stand for freedom of speech. Core functions of Ignite are similar to Twitter: it allows to post small messages (up to 240 characters) and attach media files to them.Due to its architecture, Ignite won’t be governed by anyone and could not be blocked by any form of barrier or firewall.Let us explain how Ignite works on the example of the Chinese blogger Wang Jiang Feng, that we’ve mentioned before.Wang Jiang Feng authenticates in Ignite through blockchain via his ERC20 wallet and the private key. Another word, Ignite allows signing in it without a centralized user database or any kind of social networking protocols. Then you choose how to blog: openly or completely anonymously without the risk of impersonation. In the case of Wang Jiang Feng, it is an anonymous blog. Then Chinese blogger publishes any content, including joke “Xi the Bun” on Ignite. When Jiang Feng is pushing the “Post” button, the post is being encrypted and inserted to a special block. Every 5 minutes Ignite nodes download this block to a distributed data storage called Bittorrent File System (BTFS) via Soter gateway. The block is stored forever and can’t be deleted even by the Chinese Great Firewall. Also, each generated block gets an encrypted address (called Hashtag), which is written in Ethereum blockchain by Ignite node. When someone wants to watch Jiang Feng’s post, another Ignite node uses Hashtag to find the address of the post in BTFS and show it to the user.As we see, if a Chinese blogger used our Ignite platform to publish his posts, he would never have been found and sent to prison, and his jokes could never have been removed.Let’s summarize Ignite’s core features:Unblockable — Ignite can not be banned by any kind of barrier or firewall, because it stores everything on the BTFS engine, which can not be blocked effectively yet. Also, Ignite utilizes public blockchain for users/nodes authentication. You can’t ban Ignite as long as you can’t ban blockchain itself:Censorship free — no moderation and user bans;Immutable — data is stored forever on a distributed data storage BTFS/SOTER;Anonymous — Authentication through public blockchain;Community-driven — no centralized governance.Be with us. Read more about Ignite in our next articles. Ignite, a decentralized soc...
Prometeus Labs is excited to be working with Nebulous to create the first censorship-free decentralized social media — Ignite, which is integrated with Skynet. Due to its architecture, Ignite won’t be governed by anyone and could not be blocked by any form of barrier or firewall (even the Chinese one).More about Ignite.Apply for a beta test now! What is a CDN?CDN (Content delivery network) — is a geographically distributed network of proxy servers and their data centers. The goal is to provide high availability and performance by distributing the service spatially relative to end-users.Why Ignite needs CDN?Ignite itself is a set of independent and equitable nodes, all of each has to store content and deliver it to users. It is impractical and expensive to store everything locally on every node.On the other hand, integration with CDN significantly decreases page loading time and improves overall user experience. The mission of Ignite is to reach maximum decentralization level as possible, that is why we chose Sia Skynet — the first decentralized CDN.Sia was one of the very first pioneers in providing decentralized data storage, delivery, and web hosting solutions, that is why we are confident in the quality of their product and proud to work with their team to reach our common goals. In order to provide multi-platform choice for our protocol adapters, Sia distributed data storage will also be integrated into prometeus in the near future.Prometeus Labs and Nebulous Teams will show outstanding support for each other in terms of business and technical cooperation. What is Sia?Sia is the leading decentralized cloud storage platform. Its technology connects users who need file storage with hosts worldwide offering underutilized hard drive capacity. Blockchain technology secures its data and enables improved economics for users and hosts. The Sia blockchain allows this marketplace to run without an intermediary. Sia secures storage transactions with smart contracts, creating a more reliable and affordable offering when compared to traditional cloud providers. No one person or organization can censor or deny access to data — not miners, not developers, nor any government. Sia’s distributed, decentralized storage technology is stronger, more secure, more efficient, and more equitable for the entire ecosystem.More about Sia.More about SkynetSkynet is a permanent home for data and applications. It’s an unbiased substrate where files and applications can be deployed that will long outlast their original uploader. Much like Bitcoin, Skynet is an independent organism that operates on marketplaces and incentive structures, rather than cloud servers and human intervention. The simplest thing that can be deployed on Skynet is a file. Take for example this video. The video is being pinned by a Skynet user, and as a result, the video is available to the entire world. At any point in time, someone can reinforce the video by pinning it themselves. So long as a single person chooses to pin the video, that video will remain online and available to the world. That person does not even need to stay online. Skynet has an infrastructure for hosting the video and ensuring both high uptime and smooth playback.Explore more use cases of Skynet in Sia Blog.About Prometeus ProtocolPrometeus is a secure and decentralized protocol that allows fully trustless and anonymous data exchange and storage. Why Did Social Networks Ban Inhalation therapy, Brazilian UFO & Creators of Colour? Only Ignite could safeguard our online freedomToday the only thing spreading faster than the coronavirus has been censorship and the loud calls for more restrictions on free speech. Decentralized microblogging service “Ignite” by the Prometeus labs can reverse this ugly long-term trendPhoto © PixabayWestern world’s cyberspace is under the control of Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Reddit & YouTube. They are kicking out good users and taking down countless harmless posts, pages and groups, for example, simply for asking questions about COVID-19 or presenting opinions that differ with those from the company’s executives and authorities. Their moderation policy becomes like Chinese-style censorship where dissident viewpoints and even certain words and phrases are forbidden. A surge in topics being censored by these popular platforms is causing alarm among free-speech experts who say we are rapidly moving toward complete loss of our online freedoms. The Prometeus Labs goal is to stop the tyranny of social networks with the help of distributed storage and blockchain. At the first part of the article, our team tell you about new themes which were unjustly banned or moderate this spring. You’ll be surprised. Iit is about UFO and even creators of colour. We deliberately did not touch on the video bans related to coronavirus. You can read about this in our previous article. At the second part, we present our product “Ignite” that could be censorship antidote in the near future.Part№1: Top 3 most shocking bans & moderations that took place this springToo sensational for YouTubeAustin James Wolff, director of research at the Novus Anti-Aging Center, said one of the company’s clips was ban by YouTube recently. There was inhalation therapy treatment in this video.Austin Wolff is rock’n’roll on the clinic’s channel Screenshot © Youtube“We show more graphic treatments on our channel like scalp and knee injections, but someone breathing from a mask was apparently too ‘sensational’ for YouTube,” Austin Wolff commented. “I would call it a violation of free speech, but it’s YouTube’s platform. I guess they can do as they please.”UFO subreddit was subject to systemic censorshipThere was a serious uproar in Brazil the other day: thousands of Pau Grande residents witnessed the “UFO accident”. Or, according to some eyewitnesses, an unidentified object was shot down by the Brazilian air force and it fell into a local lake.https://medium.com/media/72510d57c37cc84373de0ff5311106c3/hrefBrazil UFO sighting and crash realfiction PossibleBut /r/UFOs — Reddit’s premier gathering place for all things UFO — was automatically deleting any posts about a recent incident in Brazil. The first man who noticed it was /r/UFO moderator axolotl_peyotl. When axolotl_peyotl checked the automod, he found that ‘Brazil’ had recently been added to the list of restricted words.“I could also see the history of the edits on the spam filter. And not only that, one of the /r/ufos mods had been ‘tweaking’ the automod on a daily basis for a very long time,” axolotl_peyotl said. “Even more surprisingly, included in the spam filter were words like ‘moon’, ‘pentagon’ and ‘navy.’TikTok and racismLinasha is a beauty content creator on TikTok with over 4000 followers. She’s 22, Sri Lankan and currently living in London. In the last two months, over seven videos of her applying make-up have been removed because they “violate Community Guidelines”.Screenshot © TikTokTikTok users shared Linasha’s experience of having videos deleted for unfair reasons. As it turned out, there are thousands of such cases on the platform. Users couldn’t see how the videos they were posting were offensive, and the majority felt they were being discriminated against because of their race and/or their weight. Also, TikTok users have complained that their For You pages rarely include creators of colour.Video from ‘black out’It was a scandal. May 19 TikTok users partook in a one-day ‘black out’ on the app, in which they changed their profile pictures to the black power symbol, only followed and liked content from black creators, and urged non-black allies to avoid posting videos that day.The most chilling is the fact that this is just the beginning. So, the Atlantic recently published an article by Harvard Law School professor Jack Goldsmith and University of Arizona law professor Andrew Keane Woods calling for Chinese style censorship of the internet.Screenshot © YoutubePart№2: Ignite as censorship antidotePrometeus Labs strongly disagree with social network censorship. So our team decided to create our own social platform. Meet the “Ignite”.Ignite is a nonprofit decentralized microblogging service resistant to any kind of moderations or bans. In other words, nobody can’t ban Ignite as long as can’t ban blockchain itself. Technically, Ignite represents a set of independent and equitable nodes. Core functions of Ignite are similar to Twitter: it allows to post small messages (up to 240 characters) and attach media files to them.Let us explain how Ignite works. You authenticate in Ignite through blockchain via your ERC20 wallet and the private key. Another word, Ignite allows signing in it without a centralized user database or any kind of social networking protocols. Then you choose how to blog: openly or completely anonymously without the risk of impersonation. You post any content (text, picture, gif, video) on Ignite. When you are pushing the “Post” button, the post is being encrypted and inserted to a special block. Every 5 minutes Ignite nodes download this block to a distributed data storage called Bittorrent File System (BTFS) via Soter gateway. The block is stored forever and can’t be deleted. Also, each generated block gets an encrypted address (called Hashtag), which is written in Ethereum blockchain by Ignite node. When someone wants to watch your post, another Ignite node uses Hashtag to find the address of video in BTFS and show it to the user. Ignite users can also configure filters so that only thematic posts appear in their feed. For example, If they don’t want to see porno, they will not see it at all.In our next articles, we show you the best use-cases of Ignite. We can hint at one of them. If you have dirt on a politician, Ignite is the best place to publish it. No censor, not even the Chinese CAC or Russian Roskomnadzor, can delete this post or ban our resource.Be with us. Prometeus April Digest
The whole world has slowed down due to COVID-19, but despite quarantine, Prometeus team is working hard to deliver everything that was promised and even more. It’s been a while since we last spoke, but that was a conscious decision. We wanted to deliver you something big at once and we are doing it right now :)First of all, we would like to say a few words about Prometeus positioning. As far as you all know, Prometeus in general is a data exchange technology, which can be adopted in many ways, such as marketplaces, social media, content sharing platforms, messengers, and so on. We’ve finished development of Prometeus data exchange technology a couple of months ago, and now we can fully concentrate on the development of Dapps, which will be working on Prometeus Network. All the Dapps inside the ecosystem will utilize Prom token not only as a payment solution but also as a core part of their networks. As Prometeus enters the next stage, which we can call “fresh start”, we’ve made some changes in branding and realized a new website, which can be accessed by an old link — www.prometeus.ioNow we are ready to announce our first Dapps:Ignite — decentralized microblogging social network, which can’t be blocked by any kind of barrier or firewall. Ignite was designed to fight censorship and stand for freedom of speech. More information will be released tomorrow (1st of May). So stay tuned for updates.Ignite will be launched in private beta stage already tomorrow. If you want to become a beta tester, watch closely for our Twitter, we will post a link with the participation form there. Also, you can take part in beta testing even without registration. Tomorrow Ignite can be explored by everyone, but only the lucky ones will be able to register and create posts.Ignite public release is scheduled for the 1st of June.Stoa — a distributed marketplace that allows users to buy and sell any data in a secure and decentralized way. The whole process is anonymous and does not require any KYC. Basically, Stoa is a new name of Prometeus data marketplace. To become a member of Stoa beta test program please fill out the form on our website.Next month will be dedicated to Prometeus Dapps development. Stay tuned for updates. If you want to build on Prometeus, drop us an e-mail: email@example.comWebsite: https://prometeus.io/Telegram Chat: https://t.me/promnetworkTelegram Announcement Channel: https://t.me/promnetwork_annTwitter: https://twitter.com/prometeusnetKakao talk: https://open.kakao.com/o/gm39QhBbPrometeus April Digest was originally published in Prometeus Network on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

Their job is to ban our voi...
Not only in Russia and China but even in the democratic USA there are departments of Internet-censorship. Day and night they remove unpopular opinions, block unwanted sites and ban uncomfortable users. Their long arms will catch you everywhere, whether it’s American Facebook or Chinese Sina Weibo. But even the most terrifying censor is impotent against Ignite. It is a decentralized microblogging service created by Prometeus Labs teamFacebook’s “Supreme Court”Facebook opens its own Internet police — the “Oversight Board”, which will focus on challenging content issues including hate speech, harassment and people’s safety. The media have already dubbed this body Facebook’s “Supreme Court.” Board’s members start work this summer. They will consider the complaints about controversially removed posts and from banned users who have exhausted Fb’s usual appeals process.Facebook itself chose the initial members of the board. Among them, former European Court of Human Rights judge Andras Sajo, and former editor-in-chief of the Guardian Alan Rusbridger“The board’s decision will be binding, even if I or anyone at Facebook disagrees with it,” assures Mark Zuckerberg. But experts are sceptical.“The independence of the committee is theoretical. The Board could serve to shield Zuckerberg and Facebook from scrutiny and regulation, much to their advantage. It seems like removal of total culpability for policy blunders around censorship or political bias from Facebook’s executives.” speculates Techcrunch.Facebook has long faced criticism for high-profile content moderation issues. And now this platform seem is losing last objectivity. Howbeit in Russia the censorship situation is even tenser.Without charge or trialRoskomnadzor as Internet censor has existed in Russia for a long time. But this agency received real power only three years ago when President Vladimir Putin signed the law “Security of Information Act.” Now Roskomnadzor can block sites massively without trial or charge. The head of Russian censorship department is an official with a 12-year experience, Andrei Lipov. What has been blocked by Lipov and Roskomnadzor?Andrei Lipov7 videos on YouTube that were created by Nastya Rybka. She was an escort girl who served the sexual needs of Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska and took part in orgy on his yacht.Dozens of anti-corruption sites of Russia’s main oppositionist Alexei Navalny including portals where content about the wealth of Russian ex-president Dmitry Medvedev was published.Entire applications and services, such as Telegram, LinkedIn, Zello, Slideshare, Imo, Torrent-trackers, etc.Ferocious assault on civil society in ChinaThe Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) is characterized by local journalists as a “ferocious assault on civil society.” The areas CAC regulates include usernames on the Chinese Internet and the appropriateness of remarks made online. The head of the censorship department is Zhuang Rongwen, who reports only to Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping. Here are the most outrageous “feats” of CAC:Zhuang RongwenAfter a campaign to arrest almost 200 lawyers in China, the CAC published a directive saying that “All websites must, without exception, use as the standard only official reports with regards to the detention of trouble-making lawyers by the relevant departments.”The CAC chased down Internet users that published “rumours” following an explosion in the port city of Tianjin. So-called “rumours” claimed that blasts killed 1,000 people and provoked looting. The CAC threatened to close the major web service Sina Weibo unless it “improved censorship.” According to CAC, Sina had failed to properly police the comments made by users on the Internet.Ignite would stop censorsPrometeus Labs strongly disagree with the situation of global censorship, when officials in any country can shut up our free voices. So we created Ignite — nonprofit decentralized microblogging service resistant to any kind of moderations or bans. Technically, Ignite represents a set of independent and equitable nodes. Core functions of Ignite are similar to Twitter: it allows to post small messages (up to 240 characters) and attach media files to them.Ignite is a truly anonymous instrument without the risk of impersonation. Our service allows signing in it via private key and ERC 20 wallet. There is no centralized user database, no social networking protocols.Due to its distributed architecture, Ignite is unblockable. Our service can not be banned by any kind of barrier or firewall, because it stores everything on the BTFS engine and utilizes public blockchain for users/nodes authentication. Even CAC, the Oversight Board, or Roskomnadzor will be impotent against Ignite.Content that published in Ignite is immutable — data will be stored forever on a distributed data storage BTFS/SOTER. A brave new world is already at the doorstep. One of its characteristics is merciless global censorship. Our team strongly disagree with this situation. So we created Ignite — nonprofit decentralized microblogging service resistant to any kind of moderations, bans or block.Scourge of 21st CenturySocial media platforms are leveraging COVID-19 to vastly entrench their power in an ostensibly free society. Facebook announced the ban on anti-lockdown content. Twitter is heightening its role in deciding what constitutes “truth” about coronavirus. Youtube took the opportunity too. Here is the last example.YouTube banned Californian doctors’ video that got 5 million views. Using testing stats from their urgent care centres, Drs. Dan Erickson and Artin Massihi argue that the mortality rate for coronavirus is minuscule. Death tolls are being boosted. Physicians are being pressurized into putting Coronavirus on death certificates. Stay-at-home orders are disruptive to normal healthcare provision, the functioning of healthy immune systems and are devastating to the economy. Even Elon Musk blasted Youtube for this ban.Drs. Dan Erickson and Artin MassihiThere are doubts about what is the main 21st-century scourge: Covid-19 or global censorship that raging even in democratic countries. What is IgniteIgnite is a nonprofit decentralized microblogging service built on Prometeus and powered by Bittorrent. It allows everyone to share her/his mind freely via texts and media files. Technically, Ignite represents a set of independent and equitable nodes.Ignite mission is to fight with censorship and stand for freedom of speech. Due to its architecture, Ignite won’t be governed by anyone and could not be blocked by any form of barrier or firewall (even the Chinese one).Core functions of Ignite are similar to Twitter: it allows to post small messages (up to 240 characters) and attach media files to them. Currently, we support only pictures, but in the future versions, video and audio files will be added. Also Ignite allows you to follow not only users but topics as well. Interested in cars? Subscribe to cars tread. Interested in crypto? Subscribe to crypto tread.Ignite will reward users with prom tokens for their activities. Detailed article about token economy will be released next month.Core featuresUnblockable — ignite can not be banned by any kind of barrier or firewall, because it stores everything on the BTFS engine, which can not be blocked effectively yet. Also, Ignite utilizes public blockchain for users/nodes authentication. You can’t ban Ignite as long as you can’t ban blockchain itself.Censorship free — no moderation and user bans;Immutable — data is stored forever on a distributed data storage BTFS/SOTER;Anonymous — Authentication through public blockchain;Community-driven — no centralized governance. How does it work?Let us explain how Ignite works on the example of the California doctors story, that we’ve mentioned before.First, Californian doctors authenticate in Ignite through blockchain via their ERC20 wallet and the private key. Another word, Ignite allows signing in it without a centralized user database or any kind of social networking protocols.Second, they choose how to blog: openly or completely anonymously without the risk of impersonation.Third, Drs. Dan Erickson and Artin Massihi post their video on Ignite. When they are pushing the “Post” button, the video is being encrypted and inserted to a special block. Every 5 minutes Ignite nodes download this block to a distributed data storage called Bittorrent File System (BTFS) via Soter gateway. The block is stored forever and can’t be deleted. Also, each generated block gets an encrypted address (called Hashtag), which is written in Ethereum blockchain by Ignite node.Fourthly, when someone wants to watch doctors’ video, another Ignite node uses Hashtag to find the address of video in BTFS and show it to the user.Be with us. Currently whole world is facing hard times. A lot of people already died from COVID-19 infection, that’s why majority of countries declare quarantine. That is very important to stay at home if we want to fight with new virus. But on the other point of view, quarantine will lead us to serious economical consequences. Same as whole world, Prometeus labs had to work from home for a last month. But despite the fact that our activity slowed down for a little bit, we are still working hard to deliver everything that we promised before according to our roadmap, and even starting to work on additional product, that is going to be announced till the end of this month.Despite of everything, we still have something, that we are able to show you. So lets move to our traditional monthly report.Business developmentStarted to work on Rebranding;Closed version of new Prometeus protocol website;First version of Product Y UX/UI;Pre-release version of Prometeus data mart/validator/explorer of UX/UI;Technical updatesPrometeus Data Mart is now open for public testing. You can check it out here. Please follow instructions from our GitHub;Finished integration with Bittorrent (BTFS). Now files can be stored on Bittorrent, which is utilizing Tron blockchain;Released closed alpha version of Product Y (codename). More details will be announced later this month;Start of integration of P2P messaging solution for Prometeus Data Mart (HOPR).By the way, during last month we were mentioned in “biggest gainers” section of CryptoDiffer and Generation Crypto :)Next month will be very important and rich month for prometeus. Customs & Prometeus network
How Prometeus Labs Will Help Entrepreneurs To Take Right Decisions In External TradeHow customs data analysis prevented the loss of 50,000 eurosHere is the simple and clear story told by Olga Kolodina, CEO of one of the Russian wholesale companies:“We recently signed a contract with a Chinese animal feed supplier. The amount of the contract was 50,000 euros. What shock did I experience when I saw the customs statistics. There I discovered that the Chinese deliver to our competitors the same goodies but at a price several times lower than ours.” says Colodina. “I sent my employees to the shops. We found that the competitors had already managed to put the goods on the shelves and did it at a price of 1 euro per one package of Chinese animal feed. In the same time, we would have to put the goods at 2.5 euro per piece. I would just burn my 50,000 euros! I quickly terminated the contract with the Chinese, although I paid a fine. As a result, thanks to customs statistics, I made a deal directly with the feed producer. The price was three times lower — even lower than my competitors have.”Where does the customs statistics come from?Data on foreign trade transactions, cargoes, declarations are collected centrally by customs services from customs posts. That huge file that is formed, professionals call raw materials. In this form, these data are not interesting to marketers or business. This information is too large, fragmented and complicated to understand. The role of customs data enrichers is played by business consulters and market researchers, who buy raw data from customs services to enrich it. Usually after enriching the customs data is look like an excel table with several positions. The most simple of them:Name, address and country of the sender;Name, address and country of the recipient; The consignment invoice value; The consignment statistical value;Lot volume in physical units (pieces, kilograms, litres);Date of customs clearance;Name and country of producer of goods;Description of the consignment;CN FEA code. Then, enrichers produce segmentation by industry or products, ports or countries, etc. Now it is clear information with the help of which everybody will be able to estimate any specific market, check his pricing, find a new supplier or new buyer. Due to this enriched data, the entrepreneur can minimize risks and make informed decisions on how to increase his business.External trade is a game of huge scope with the largest prizes to its winners! But risks exporters and importers face are great: How not to miscalculate the price? How not to conclude an unprofitable contract? Where to find a reliable supplier? Who else to deliver the goods to? What is more profitable to trade? How to increase your market share? To answer correctly to these questions business needs reliable sources of information. So rose market of customs information and statistics. And it has big problems. Today there are too many misleading information and intermediaries in this market. The customs data vendors usually specialize in one country and know nothing about other countries. Also, they always have the unfriendly confusing interface. In total, it is very difficult to choose a company from which to buy customs statistics — the risk of error will be too grand and too expensive. As a result, small and medium-sized businesses don’t take the opportunity to scan customs statistics. The Prometeus solutionPrometeus Labs can remove all barriers on the way of the customs data market. Our team developed a secure and decentralized ecosystem, that serves as an infrastructure for gathering, validating, processing, enriching, and selling customs data. How Prometeus network works? Details in white paperIn Prometeus network, every external sale company, customs service or customs post may be a data owner. They sell their data in the form of database of customs declarations, suppliers or vendors. Data owner upload it in an unlimited format directly to the Prometeus blockchain network nodes through the validator with a user-friendly interface. All information will be encrypted by the private key. Only the data buyer will receive the second key. Now the data is safe, nobody will be able to steal it. But everybody, including data enrichers, sees this data in the form of metadata in the datamart — it is like a virtual shop. The role of customs data enrichers in Prometeus network will be played by business consulters and market researchers. They buy the raw data from data owners and enrich it by AI and machine learning. Encrypted enriched data (statistics by goods or countries, analysis reports, insights) in the form of metadata is put up for sale in the same datamart. Every enricher in Prometeus network will have its own rating, which dynamically increases or falls depending on the quality of data enriched by him. Tricks or fraud are impossible here. All deals are making though user-friendly datamart by impartial smart-contracts. Every transaction is recorded in a distributed ledger. Data owner or data enricher always will see online who and when is buying their data. These records cannot be rolled back or faked. At last, data buyers, including small and medium-sized businesses, will get a convenient and reliable instrument to buy customs information from the best data vendors.Be with us. Prometeus Pamphlet: All Abo...
We are getting closer to product release, so today we would like to talk about the utility of Prometeus token and its place in the ecosystem. Probably, until now you had pretty limited understanding of PROM token itself, but we hope that this article makes everything at least a little bit clear.BasicsFirst of all, let us take a word about basic work principles of all internet services. Each process on the internet is a process of data exchange. When you are calling an Uber or watching a movie online Sunday evening — you exchange the data. Of course, that is a general understanding of complicated internet technologies and processes. In his turn, blockchain records transaction data and transfers it. You can even record a picture, video or song in blockchain, but that will cost you a lot in terms of gas. So, if we are talking about blockchain data transfers, we can spot general problems such as the inability of existing blockchains to provide efficient data transfers. Prometeus layer solves that problem by utilizing service nodes, data validators and DDS (distributed data storages). You may ask pretty legit questions like: why do I need a decentralized solution for writing a tweet? Or posting new photos to Facebook? Sending a new message via Whatsapp or Viber? There are many reasons for that, but let us just point on main ones:Censorship and self censorship;Accessibility;Transparency;Security;Price. We will talk about each one of them in detail, but a little bit later, for now — let’s just move on.Where you can implement Prometeus Protocol? As you can understand from the picture above, prometeus protocol is a level 2 layer, that allows data exchange in decentralized and anonymous ways on the majority of exciting blockchains. For example, the protocol can be used for creating a decentralized version in the following industries:1. Social media — Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok etc;2. Live streaming services and video hostings — Twitch, YouTube etc;3. Messengers — Whatsapp, Viber, WeChat, KakaoTalk, Messenger etc;4. Marketplaces and content sharing platforms — Spotify, Apple music, Pinterest, Patreon, Fiverr, Shutterstock, Freelancer etc;5. Data management platforms — adobe audience manager etc.Use-Cases ExamplesBefore we explained general reasons to move from centralized data exchange to decentralize, let’s take a look at exact cases.Breaking the FirewallFirst of all, we would like to talk about the problem of accessibility. We are all aware that democracy is spreading across the globe step by step. But even in the 21st century, some countries do not respect basic human rights, such as information freedom. They block all independent social media and put the remaining ones to the condition of total control. Obvious examples are China, North Korea, Turkey and even Russia are moving in that direction. That is especially important in the current coronavirus situation. According to the latest information — you can be easily arrested for talking about the current state of coronavirus inside the country. And what is worse — the government has access to your social media. So imagine — yesterday you were just discussing healthcare statements with your friend on WeChat or posting something on Weibo and today you will have to spend some time in jail for that. Prometeus protocol based social media is utilizing blockchain itself, which can not be banned by any of the existing firewalls.Down with CensorshipSecondly, is censorship. It is everywhere, from Twitter to Instagram. For example, recently dozens of Twitter accounts of crypto projects and crypto influencers, such as Crypto Differ or Pomp, got permanently blocked for some fake reasons. Even our account has been deleted. Same happened with Google and Facebook not that a while ago. Also, Twitter is a well-known weapon of political manipulation, even though it has OFFICIALLY banned political ads. To know more about overall censorship of social media (both — themselves and government) please follow this link. You can find hundreds and thousands of examples there. To be honest, the problem of censorship is pretty clear, but let’s just add some examples to previous ones. If you do think that it’s only a social media issue, then you are wrong. Live Streaming services such as Twitch are also facing the same problem. Recently Twitch and YouTube banned almost every account that were steaming live casinos. Or another case: two guys were streaming the premier league championship with their own comments and got banned.Stop Cambridge AnalyticaThe third one is transparency. As we always say — your data is being traded behind your back. Social corporations are making billions yearly on data trading and ordinary users aren’t getting even a piece of it. We all remember the scandal around Cambridge Analytica, who used user data from Facebook without owners’ approval. If you haven’t heard about it, check this out.Big brother is watching youThe Fourth reason is security. That problem is actual only for some countries. But it still exists. For example, according to the new Russian law, service providers have to store all your phone calls, text messages, internet traffic at least for half of a year. And messengers, such as WhatsApp and Viber have to share keys to the private messages on government request, which violates human basic privacy rights. Also, we would like to add another example here, but before reading it, please note, that Prometeus Labs is against any kind of illegal things trading. Well known illegal marketplace, which is offering such stuff as guns, drugs, documents and so on also is not 100% protected from traffic traction. Even working with bitcoin does not guarantee you full anonymity in this kind of questions. Currently, the deal process on the mentioned marketplace goes this way: you send BTC to the address and get a dataset from the seller. The received dataset includes information regarding the location of the product that you are buying. Implementation of prometeus protocol here does not change the deal process from user side at all but significantly increases trade security.Lower PricesAnd last, but not least from reasons that we have mentioned is the price for end-users. That comes from marketplace areas. Such as Fiverr for example. Company fee from each freelance deal is 20%. Working via Prometeus based data exchange parties don’t have to pay escrow fees, they just have to pay network fee, which is less than 1% of their deal amount. Another example is Shutterstock (or any other photobank), which works on a subscription basis with the price range of $50–250. Main Shutterstock expense is storing pictures on centralized storage. If it would be based on Prometeus Protocol and DDS, subscription range could be decreased to $10–100, making even bigger profit for the company. One more question here is copyrights — we won’t explain everything in detail, in order to avoid any possible restriction of this article, but if you read everything carefully, you probably already understood the copyright and prometeus relations.Oh, and also — several teams are already working on prometeus based social media solutions. If you are interested in the implementation of prometeus protocol — please drop something to our email. Now, as you know the basics, let’s move to the main purpose of this article — to share with you our vision on prometeus token role.High-Level Token UtilityWhat is the main problem of exciting decentralized social media and marketplaces? Why do they still didn’t get any kind of mass adoption, even though they are better than centralized ones?First of all, the current stage of development and adoption of decentralized products has a high entry barrier in terms of technology. Will you use metamask in a manual way every time you twit? We don’t think so. The second problem is the payments. Each marketplace has its own tokens, that is being used as a payment method, which is in our opinion is just not the best way for mass adoption. And the main reason is a necessity to pay money (even a small amount) for each transaction (or let’s say a word). Would you use twitter, if you had to pay $0,05 for each tweet? Or would you use Whatsapp if you had to pay $0,01 for each message? We don’t think so. We are pretty much aware that anything, that is blockchain-based has to pay gas for each transaction, but there are some options on how to hide it, and we are already developing that kind of solutions. Here is what we offer:Decreasement of technology barriers to the minimal possible level;Automated cross-platform swap between prometeus based products and ecosystem parts;Shareware blockchain-based social media, based on the FTPT algorithm, which is going to be implemented in later stages.First of all, let us point to our final goal — we don’t want to use PROM token as a payment solution, because that goes against our philosophy. If you use your own token as a payment, in terms of price and token development in the long term it can be fatal. Here is a scheme of relations between prometeus layer and products, utilizing it:So, in general every data, that is written directly to selected blockchain goes through data validator and service nodes. Service nodes are preparing the data to be written in blockchain and data validators are pushing it. Platforms can use their own data validators and service nodes or ask for help from private ones, who may request additional fees for their services. Number of necessary data validators and service nodes depends on the user and transactions count. Both, data validator and service node, have to lock some PROM tokens in the ecosystem in order to proceed data. So, basically, more platforms -> more users -> more validators and service nodes -> more prom locked in the ecosystem. In some way, it is pretty similar to the DeFi and ETH model. The sad thing is that the implementation of the FTPT algorithm will require a little bit more time from our side that we expected. So, to release products as soon as possible, we will implement ordinary token payment solutions during our beta release. But it will be implemented only in addition to data validators and service nodes algorithms. To sum token utility functions:Beta stage (spring 2020): PROM is starting to be locked inside the ecosystem by data validators and service nodes and becomes its integral part. PROM token used as a payment method together with stable coins and main blockchain currencies. We do expect to launch 3 platforms until the end of the beta stage, which are already being developed by outstanding teams;Release stage (summer 2020): PROM is used only as an integral part of the ecosystem by data validators and service nodes. Implementation of FTPT algorithm and different models of monetization of integrated products. We expect at least 5 launched products until the end of this summer. Please remember, that token is not a payment method, it is an integral part of the ecosystem, otherwise, there is no point in creating it :)Be with us. The Key To Medicine Of Futu...
The Key To Medicine Of Future Or How Prometeus Network Can Save Hundred Thousand Korean Animal From Cruel TestingsIn the physician-scientists’ unanimous opinion, big data management is the key to the medical breakthrough. Clinicians, researchers and patients need to share data more intensive. Prometeus Labs proposes a cost-effective and comprehensive solution for data challenges in healthcare. Our blockchain network is able to link clinical trial endpoints from all other the world, and avoid new costly researches, including cruel animal testingSave animals from testingClinical endpoints are outcome measures in clinical research trials. For example, a trial investigating the ability of a medication to prevent heart attack might use chest pain as an endpoint. Any patient who develops chest pain over the course of this research, then, would be counted as having reached that clinical outcome. Here is the problem, that lies within the area of data sharing among thousands researchers, laboratories and hospitals. Various studies on a particular topic often do not address the same outcomes, making it difficult to draw clinically useful conclusions when a group of studies is looked at as a whole. The endpoints are under a loupe with PrometeusAs a result of this problem, physician-scientists rely on false or outdated medical data. They have to synthesize more chemicals and do more testings and trial. In Korea, animals are suffering from these additional researches. The Korean Ministry of Agriculture published laboratory statistics, which revealed record-high animal use in 2018. In total 3,727,163 rodents, rabbits, dogs, fish, monkeys and other animals were used in Korean experiments. One in every three animals was subject to chemical poisoning without pain relief. In this situation, it is very important to share data that is already available and used in the EU, USA, Russia, China, Korea and other countries. Data sharing will avoid the need for additional animal testing and will safeguard the work done. Another word, you don’t need to synthesize and test on the animal a new medical chemical if somebody has already done it. You don’t need to achieve endpoints in clinical trials if they have been already achieved. You’ve better buy all the required data to keep researching, not to start it new. Today different clinical and pharmaceutical consortiums all over the world can’t share data with quite an effectiveness to synchronize results of their trials. Prometeus labs can change it. Our team provide with the healthcare industry a secure and decentralized ecosystem, that serves as an infrastructure for gathering, validating, processing, enriching, and selling trials’ data.Animal testing in medical laboratoryLink clinical trial endpointsIn Prometeus network, every researcher or laboratory may be a data owner, who, alone, sets the price for his own data. Selling data can take the form of Studies, Robust Studies Summaries, Chemical Safety Reports and clinical trial endpoints. Data owner upload it in an unlimited format directly to the Prometeus blockchain network nodes through the validator with a user-friendly interface. All endpoints or other information will be encrypted by the private key. Only the data buyer will receive the second key. Now the data is safe, nobody will be able to steal it. But everybody, including other researchers and laboratory, sees this data in the form of metadata in the datamart — it is like a virtual shop. Now, it is more profitable to buy data of completed trials than to do a new one in the same topic. All deals are making though user-friendly datamart by impartial smart-contracts. Every transaction is recorded in a distributed ledger. Data owner always will see online who and when is buying his data. These records cannot be rolled back or faked. Data owner is always able to delete his information or refuse to sell it.How it works with Prometeus networkFor example, now Korean medical facilities (Division of Cardiology, Department of Internal Medicine, Bucheon St. Mary’s Hospital, College of Medicine and Catholic University) conduct tests to improve treatment of Korean patients with mild-to-moderate essential hypertension.Hypertension365 hypertensive patients in this study were divided into 3 groups according to taken medication — fimasartan, valsartan or olmesartan. Ambulatory blood pressure was measured before and after the 6-week treatment. The primary endpoint of the trial was reduction of sitting office systolic blood pressure of fimasartan compared to valsartan after 6 weeks. The details of this testing need to be share fast among all involved researchers. Then the secondary endpoint will be achieved faster. One of Korean medical facility, who participates in hypertension testing, achieves any trial endpoint. Then this facility uploads data of endpoint in the blockchain network through the validator. All rest med facilities will see it right there in the datamart. Now they can free or for money to get this information (depend on arrangements). The deal will be provided by smart-contract. The transaction is recorded to the distributed ledger. Nobody can fake this record. The usual patients are data owners in our system too. They can upload in Prometeus network their disease histories and sell it as data to researchers for money, discount on therapy or more personalized treatment. But scattered raw data of millions of patients will have no value for researches. The value will grow considerably after enrichment. In Prometheus Network, the role of Enricher can be carried out by AI companies and data scientists.Be with us. Prometeus Labs and MultiVAC signed a technical cooperation agreementPrometeus Labs glad to announce a strategic partnership with the world’s first all-dimensional sharding and flexible computing blockchain platform MultiVAC. We will exchange mutually in the level of the underlying technology and business development. The technical details of the partnership are to be announced later.MultiVAC is the world’s first all-dimensional sharding and flexible computing blockchain platform, designed with an innovative distributed storage and transmission mechanism which is based on Merkle Root. By introducing storage nodes, miner nodes can efficiently and securely verify large data with minimal data, which helps solve the ledge storage and bandwidth overloading issues, which greatly reduce the scale of account and the volume of network transmission. MultiVAC conducted its token sale last year and collected over 18m USD from strategic partners such as Genesis Capital, Hashed and so on. The team behind MultiVAC consists of professionals with various work experience in well-known companies.Recently MultiVAC launched testnet 3.0 and was able to create a stable mining ecosystem with over 500m MTV deposits and over 58m MTV mining rewards.Prometeus Network is a secure and decentralized protocol that allows fully trustless and anonymous data exchange and storage. Prometeus aims to better commercialize the buying and selling of personal data in a more secure and decentralized fashion. By packaging the gathering, validating, processing, enriching, and purchasing of user data, Prometeus aims to establish a more streamlined user-experience for parties on both ends of data brokerage. Our primary focus right now is to allow people to monetize their data from social networks and give access to analytical products based on their data. Other use-cases of the network can include applications in many other industries that rely on data exchange and monetization.Working together our teams will be able to achieve better performance of own technology development via talent and inventions exchange. Also, we will cooperate in terms of business development and data exchange, which will allow us to establish efficient and stable business processes. Exact details of the strategic partnership are to be announced in the coming months. November technical progress...
November technical progress reportWe are trying to catch a moment that we missed last year, so here is our second article from a cycle dedicated to our technical progress. If you missed the October report, we highly recommend you to take a look at it before reading this article. You can find it here.In October we used to work on data validator and service node and created a basement for whole Prometeus ecosystem, but, to be honest with you, everything was far from being and ideal :) That’s why in November we improved everything that was done for October and started to work on Data Mart, but first things first:Service nodeSN v1.02 release:Implementation of Plasma for storing internal transactions;Added decentralized data storage, Ethereum Swarm;Capacity increase.SN v1.03 release:Added Redis Hashtable, responsible for key storage;Added Rest API for integration with other parts of the ecosystem.Data validatorDV v1.02 release:Added internal API and admin interface for data loads;Added the initial data encryption component.DV v1.03 release:Added Redis Hashtable, responsible for key storage;Added Rest API for integration with other parts of the ecosystem;Improved initial data encryption component: added storage encryption key, re-encrypted by a data encryption key. Implementation of unique key technology.Data MartIn November we’ve started to work on our data mart, and even we able to release a beta versionDM v1.01 release:Data purchase function (from data owner via data validator by service node);Payment system;Encrypted meta-data storage;Unique “key pair” generation for each purchase;Data update (based on blockchain);Data download and decryption from decentralized storage.General updates:Development of Rest API;Integration between Data validator and Service node via Rest API;The initial version of smart-contracts;Improvement of encryption/decryption mechanism, capacity increase; The initial version of Prometeus ecosystem UX/UI.Please, stay tuned for more technical reports, we are going to publish more in the coming days. Also, we would like to invite you to our weekly AMA with Prometeus team this Sunday (19. January) at 01:00 PM UTC+0, three best questions will be rewarded with 25$ in PROM tokens each. October technical progress ...
October technical progress reportWe all know that we are kind late, posting October community report in January, but it’s never too late, right? :)As we previously mentioned in announcements, Prometeus team were fully concentrated on technical development for last months. 2020 came and we decided to publish a series of articles, dedicated to technical progress that we’ve made for that time. We hope that this will create a full picture of prometeus ecosystem and encourages our supporters to help us more and more. To be honest, we achieved a lot of and even overcome ourselves in terms of technology development for last months.During October we were working mostly upon architecture and data storage design. As you all know, Prometeus ecosystem is consists from 4 basic parts:Data ValidatorData MartService NodeDecentralized Data StorageIn October we were busy working on Data validator instance and service node instance.Data validator receives and stores data from data owner, which can be sold on Data Mart, he is responsible for their integrity. In October we developed basic principles of work, created unique encrypted key generation mechanism for data validator and even were able to release some functions in beta stage, such as:1. Insurance that data owner has access to the wallet2. Encryption of data on the side of own instance3. Data downloading to the ecosystem4. Storage of encrypted passwords from personal data5. Storage of accesses to corresponding data walletsAnd here comes minute of a shilling, why data validator is safer that centralized systems and what we were able to achieve:1. All encryption keys of personal data are unique;2. Service node can’t decrypt key by itself, it needs data validator;3. Data validator can’t lose part of encryption keys;4. Everything for encryption and decryption of your data is stored on a blockchain and in case of technical problems might be restored by data validator.Service node beta released functions:1. Storage of ecosystem internal transactions2. Storage of meta and personal data as a part of distributed storage3. Processing of incoming requests4. Transaction execution and their protection in case of emergencyThat was quite hard to finish everything in October, but main part of the team were working literally without any day-offs and was able to finish everything for a month. We also have made some progress in business development and were able to reach agreements of beta testing by some companies, but for now we can not reveal that information due NDA.Please stay tuned for more updates regarding development progress, which are gonna be published in coming days, don’t forget to subscribe on our social media channels:Telegram chat: https://t.me/promnetworkTelegram announcements: https://t.me/promnetwork_annTwitter: https://twitter.com/Prometeus_netOctober technical progress report was originally published in Promeθeus Network on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.

Announcement of new communi...
Dear friends and Prometeus supporters. We hope that start of this year for you was fantastic! Because, a good year beginning makes the whole year good :)We know, that last year was not the best one for PROM from community side, you were not satisfied by community policy of Prometeus team. We used to communicate with you, to be honest, pretty rarely, and used to be almost silent for last few months, not sharing with you what is going on inside team and project. But there were solid reasons for that. We wanted to fully concentrate on technology development to make it as much perfect as it could be for this day. And, actually, we have made huge leap in project development for last year, and you are going to find out everything soon enough. We are sincerely thankful to you for strong support, despite of our community policy. But in this year, we decided to change it, and right now we want to announce policy of full transparency not only in token economy, but also in everything regarding project development and progress. More news, development reports, partnerships, promotions for community supporters, there everyone can try out our product and get cool rewards :)First of all, we would like to create a few new traditions of our community:1. Weekly/Biweekly reports regarding project development and progress. We are going to publish them almost every Saturday, starting from this one.2. Weekly AMA’s with different team members, there you can ask any project related question. And by the way, every week we will give prom rewards for most interesting questions. Weekly AMA’s are going to be conducted every Sunday, starting from this one.Once again, we would like to congratulate our community with year 2020 and wish you of you reach their own targets.Stay tuned and follow our media channels for more details.Telegram chat: https://t.me/promnetworkTelegram announcements: https://t.me/promnetwork_annTwitter: https://twitter.com/Prometeus_netAnnouncement of new community policy was originally published in Promeθeus Network on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
